Sun Ra

It was with sadness that we heard of the death of Sun Ra this summer. Bornbefore the first world war, this African American musician led the SolarMyth Arkestra for forty years. Sun Ra came from Saturn (a village in Georgia)and promoted a heliocentric world view through his music. Devising his owninstruments, he has been a powerful influence in music for many years.His music inspired such organisations as Outer Spaceways Incorporated todevelop the psychogeography of Essex in the mid-seventies. His music willcontinue to be an inspiration to us all.
